who is itziar ituño?
"Basque actress in constant training". That's what his bio says on Instagram. But in addition to acting, he also dances, composes, sings and enchants many people. It's more like a "Basque artist in constant training".
Itziar Ituño was born in Basauri, Basque Country, where he built (and builds) much of his career.
He studied acting at the Basauri theater school, Basauriko Antzerki, and also graduated in Urban-Industrial and Political Sociology from the Universidad de Basque Country.

Although his mother tongue is Castilian, at the age of 19 he learned Euskera (language of the Basque country), which opened many doors for him to work on television in the Basque Country.
In addition to acting, he also sings in three musical groups: Dangiliske, EZ3 and Ingot Rock. In all of them she sings and even composes some lyrics in Euskera.
His first TV job was in the 1990s when he participated in the television program "Lo que necesitas es amor" on Antena 3, a Spanish television channel operated by Atresmedia Televisión. In the 1990s, he started to do a lot of work. at EITB ( Euskal Irrati Telebista ), where he began to act in the series Goenkale until 2015, playing the character Nekane Beitia.
Thus, almost her entire career as an actress was developed in the Basque Country, with works performed in Castilian and Euskera not only on TV, but also in theater and cinema.
One of the productions that earned him a lot of recognition was with the film Loreak (Flowers) in 2014, nominated for the Goya (important award for cinema in Spain) and also nominated for an Oscar in the category of international films. This same work brought her to Brazil in 2015 to participate in the 25th Cine Ceará - Ibero-American Film Festival, where she won the award for best actress.
Despite the recognition inside and outside Spain with the film, it was with her work in the series La Casa de Papel (2017-2021) playing inspector Raquel Murillo/Lisbon that she became world-renowned and conquered divers@s fans.
Since then, its popularity has grown exponentially. To get an idea, reached more than 5 million followers on Instagram, started visiting several cities and countries for different types of events, shows and awards. He even returned to Brazil in 2019 to perform with the band Ingot in São Paulo (SP) and Caruarú (PE).
In addition to her undeniable talent and competence as an artist, her side as a woman and human being shines even more.
It fights for the preservation and maintenance of the culture of its people in the Basque Country and is dedicated to various humanitarian causes, supporting important projects to change and improve the social, political, economic and environmental context not only in its land, but also in Spain and beyond. .
