Long before her worldwide success with La Casa de Papel (Money Heist), our Basque had already set foot on Brazilian soil.

In 2015, Itziar Ituño was at the 25th Cine Ceará, where she received the best actress award for her performance as Lourdes in the film Loreak (Flowers). The trophy was presented by OI's Director of Institutional Relations, Urbano Costa Lima.
"Loreak" tells the story of Ane (Nagore Aranburu) who is in crisis with her husband and starts receiving bouquets of flowers without knowing who the sender is. After the death of a co-worker, she buys flowers for the deceased and meets his wife, Lourdes (Itziar Ituño) and his mother, Tere (Itziar Aizpuru). The three end up finding themselves linked by hardship and the presence of the flowers in some way in their lives.
This award-winning film, was the first from the Basque Country to be nominated for the Goya which is an important Spanish award. The feature, directed by Jon Garaño and Jose Mari Goenaga was also the first Basque-language film to compete for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film!
It was through this film that the casting directors of La Casa de Papel met Itziar Ituño and called her to do a test for the series, where she came to play Raquel Murillo.
I consider this film a true masterpiece of Basque cinema and one that deserves to be enjoyed with calm, lightness and reflections.
The trailer states: "They are only flowers".
Could it be?
